The 1st Asia-Pacific Maritime Pilots' Forum

The first ever Asia-Pacific Maritime Pilots' Forum was held in Bali, Indonesia on the 28th - 30th August, 2017 co-hosted by INAMPA (Indonesian Maritime Pilots' Association)

A short extract of a small presentation from the workshop is below:


"... Indonesian Maritime Pilots ‘Association (INAMPA) was declared in 2003 is a gathering place for marine pilots in Indonesia, which in 2017 has been officially recognized and registered as a member of International Maritime Pilots ‘Association (IMPA) in London as non profit organization. The recommendation of IMPA Congress in Seoul Korea in 2016, Indonesia Maritime Pilots ‘Association (INAMPA) have pointed to organize Regional Forums to improve the quality of Pilotage, development of ship technology in safety and good relationship associated with ship guilding, in addition to strengthening the relationship of Professionals Pilot.

Indonesia in this case the Indonesian Maritime Pilots ‘Association (INAMPA) has been awarded as Host of Operation: “The 1st Asia Pacific Maritime Pilots Forum” to be held in Bali on 28th – 30th August 2017 in attendance ± 50 Asia Pacific countries between Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, etc.


Why in Bali ? Because Bali is well known throughout Indonesia and even around the world as a region or world tourist destination with its unique art and culture accompanied by beautiful natural and sea scenery. Even King Salman and entourage of 1500 people choose Bali as a holiday destination on the sidelines visiting Indonesia and a number of countries with an extended holiday schedule from the original 5 days to 8 days. King Salman has reasons why choose Bali as a tourist destination. First, Bali is a very famous tourist spot and then Bali also has beautiful natural scenery. In essence, King Salman is very satisfied and memorable holiday in Bali.


WORLD MARITIME AXIS

In accordance with its geographical characteristics with 17.000 islands , Indonesia has a vision as a World Maritime Axis. The Government has a number of agendas related to the vision, among others related to the development of maritime culture, maritime resource management, infrastructure development and maritime connectivity, diplomacy and defense of maritime security. It is expected that from the enactment of the maritime axis, Indonesia's economy and prosperity will increase.

Indonesia as a Vision of the “World Maritime Axis" echoed by President Joko Widodo is an aspiration and will have a major impact on the enforcement of economic sovereignty and territory of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, has priority in maritime sectors.


THE GOAL 1st ASIA PACIFIC MARITIME PILOTS FORUM

•Equalize the perceptions of Maritime Pilots Association of Asia and Pacific .

•Building multilateral collaboration in the field of maritime pilots science, technology and Training.

•Accomodates the aspirations of members of the Association of Asia Pacific Maritime Pilots."

Date : August 28th – 30th, 2017.

Attended by ± 100 delegations

Asia Countries : China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, Sri Lanka & Vietnam.

Pacific Countries : Australia, New Zealand & Papua New Guinea.
